Installation requirements

• 13mm Wrench (for pole mounting)
• Drill with an 8mm drill bit (for wall mounting)
• Phillips screwdriver (for wall mounting)
• The cable should be facing downwards when mounting.
• Category 5 (or higher) shielded cabling must be used for all external Ethernet connections and must be connected to the PoE AC ground.

• Surge protection must be used at all outdoor installations. We recommend that you use two surge protectors, model ETH-SP, one near the UAP-AC-M-PRO and the other at the building entry point. The ETH-SP will absorb surges and safely discharge them to the ground.

Wireless Network Deployment Requirements

The UAP-AC-M-PRO supports wireless network deployment on the UniFi Wi-Fi network. This feature requires a UniFi AP that is currently managed and running with the following configuration:

• The UniFi Access Point must be running firmware v3.7.7 or higher
• At least one of the SSIDs is activated and working in the 5 GHz band
• The UAP-AC-M-PRO must be within wireless range of the UniFi Access Point
