Installation requirements
- The GPS antenna needs to have a clear line of sight to the sky for GPS to work properly.
- Category 5 (or higher) shielded cabling with drain wire must be used for all Ethernet connections and must be connected to the PoE AC ground.
We recommend that you protect your networks from harmful outdoor environments and electrostatic discharge phenomena with Ubiquiti's industrial-grade Ethernet shielded cable. For more information, please visit ui.com/toughcable
- Surge protection must be used at all outdoor installations. We recommend using two surge protectors, model ETH-SP, one near RocketPrism and one at the building entry point. The ETH-SP will absorb surges and safely discharge them to the ground.
