Description
The MC200CM is a media converter designed to convert 1000BASE-SX fiber cable to 1000Base-T copper cable or vice versa. The MC200CM is designed to IEEE802.3ab, 1000Base-T, IEEE802.3z and 1000Base-SX standards. It can be used with multimode fiber cable using an SC type connector. The MC200CM supports the shortwave (SX) laser specification at full transmission speed. It operates at 850nm for both data transmission and reception.
Other features of this module include the ability to be used as a stand-alone device (no enclosure required) or with a TP-LINK 19" chassis. Additionally, it automatically detects MDI/MDI-X mode for the TX port and includes status LEDs on a front panel. The MC200CM extends optical transmission distance up to 0.55 kilometers when using multimode fiber.
