Description
The MIX-4050 synchronization module is designed for use with MGC Alarm Notification devices. The synchronization module is used to synchronize the flashing of the strobes with the audio signal pattern. The same protocol is used to silence the horn while maintaining the strobe flashes. It also supports the two-stage alarm function, Alert (20 beats per minute) and Evacuation (Temporal Pattern 3).
The synchronization module is installed between a fire alarm system NAC circuit and alarm notification appliances. When there is no alarm, the NAC line connected to the synchronization module is off and no power is applied to the device. When the NAC line is turned on, the device is powered up and becomes operational. Up to 20 modules can be interconnected to achieve synchronization without the need to program or select a master unit. An LED will indicate activation and master/slave status. The master will flash intermittently while the slave will flash rapidly. Proper interconnection of devices can be verified by ensuring that only one device is flashing at the master rate.
The mute input can be used to mute the NAC devices on a MIX-4050 without affecting the other MIX-4050 devices that are interconnected. The module can synchronize one (1) Class A NAC line or two (2) Class B NAC lines without the need for programming. This is a hardware-only device and does not require programming or setting of switches or jumpers.
